LUMBRE – South American Roots in Contemporary Dialogue

Date and Time
Sat, 7th Nov, 2026 at 19:30 - 22:00

LUMBRE explores the richness of South American musical traditions through both classic repertoire and original compositions.

Formed by musicians from Argentina and Portugal, the ensemble brings together voice, piano, 7-string guitar, violin and cello, blending folk-rooted music with influences from jazz and chamber music.

The programme travels from the Andes to the Río de la Plata, featuring rhythms such as zamba, chacarera, huayno and candombe. Approaching folklore as living material, LUMBRE reshapes these traditions through refined arrangements, rhythmic interplay and dynamic contrast.

The result is a vibrant yet subtle programme that highlights rhythmic depth, contrapuntal textures and the expressive potential of the ensemble.
